The Beam Rig consist of a 40 cm diameter stainless steel chamber, capable of reaching pressures of 10-13 bar and temperatures of ~ 100 K. The main chamber is connected to two lines which control the gas flow and pressure. The experimental level of the chamber is shown in the figure.
The system includes:
- Cross-beam QMS
- Hemispherical electron analyser (CLAM)
- Residual Gas Analyser (RGA)
- RAIRS
- Low-energy electron gun
- X-Ray source for X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS)
